How are you today?
Seriously. How are you?

There’s so much shaking going on in our world.

This past week alone, I’ve spoken to many dear friends who are facing huge battles with health, finances, and relationships.
It’s hard. Really hard.
Hard to experience.
Hard to understand at times.
How should we respond?
It’s never God’s will that we suffer. Jesus makes it clear that God’s plan is that we have life and life in all its fullness (John 10:10).

But we are in battle.
Many things are not as they should be.
Which is why Jesus commands us to pray.
Daily.
To lean into God, even when we live between miracle and mystery.

I shared with Zeo earlier this month where I spoke about my personal experiences of being badly shaken. I discovered there were tough choices to make, every day, whether or not to pursue God and partner with Him in the place of pain. I hope you find it helpful, and hopeful.

Making choices to lean into God is never easy. Especially when we’re battling with fear, doubt and disappointment. But, as the Psalmist reminds us in 16:7-11, there are treasures to discover if we’re able to push on, and push through. That’s definitely my personal experience, although I’ll always carry the scars of the fight.

“I will bless the Lord who guides me;
even at night, my heart instructs me.
I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety.
For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.
You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.”
Psalm 16:7-11

Let’s make a fresh choice to hold on to God today. Where else can we turn?

Maybe take a moment to slowly, thoughtfully, and honestly pray this prayer with me.

Jesus, we need you in our shaking.
Be our rock.
Our fortress.
Our refuge.
Our hiding place.
Our peace.
Our strength.
Our comfort.
Our hope.
Amen
I’m praying for good surprises from Heaven for you.

Remember, we’re in this together – with Jesus.
